Anybody bored yet....some ideas and relaxation

It seems we will all be in limbo for a while yet with continued limitations on our movements etc. I too am bunkered down at home only daring to go outside the gate for those essentials for life. I have come up with an idea...and hope that it may help in these challenging times. Read on for details.

Munns's Munchies - Orange Cake..so simple!

We managed to get some oranges a week or so ago but found them to be a bit dry and lacking flavour (only to find that they were from USA), no Aussie ones in stock mores the pity. So having endured the first three the last one hung around. I found a use for it and made a rather good and very simple cake. Even the "Boss lady" liked it.

Munns' Munchies - Pumkin Soup with Garlic

This is a tasty warming soup with a twist, which is easy to make and only using one pot. My kind on cooking, less mess, and far less hassle from the boss when she gets back in the kitchen!
You can add the spices and herbs to taste dependant on your own palate.
I have just given a guide in this example. I hope you enjoy this little favourite of mine.

Give our local businesses a chance - Positive Thoughts.

Thinking Outside the square and just an idea:

Self Isolation Self distancing Minimal Contact etc etc. All good and its working BUT lets try and keep our local businesses going AND create some work.

Munns' Munchies - Savoury Slice

Just a snack, lunch, a nibble, or just comfort food in-front of the TV , computer or whatever you are doing whilst we are practising social isolation. I found a few sheets of puff pastry in the freezer, (they HAD to be used), and some left overs in the fridge.

Munns's Munchies - Banana Bread

Banana Bread - served warm with lashings of butter, who can resist it, but I add a couple of extras to making it interesting.  This recipe is simple and very tasty so here goes.

Munns' Munchies Ginger Biscuits - John's version!

Ginger biscuits are always a favourite.
I found a recipe which was so easy even I could make them and then modified it a bit as I like a little crunch on the edges and lots of ginger. For those who have asked and who are hungry try this.

Lakes Entrance Business celebrates 100 years in operation - Congratulations.

On December 15th 1919, a company commenced operations in Lakes Entrance and, I would wager, not even thinking that 100 years later, that same company would still be in operation and still fully owned and operated by the same family. An icon of Lakes Entrance and indeed Gippsland, if not Victoria when it comes to cruise boat operations Peels Tourist & Ferry Service Pty. Ltd. celebrates 100 years of operations today.
Congratulations to the Peel family

Missed Opportunity by our leaders, it's not too late......you were told!

For well over 7 years a dedicated group of volunteers has been working day and night to provide a Motorsport Complex for the community and to provide a huge economic advantage for our region at the Gippsland Motorplex (Bairnsdale Dragway Inc), currently at Aerodrome Road Bairnsdale. Why are these efforts being ignored by all levels of government and opportunities being missed?

Bullock Island - a new beginning!

Christmas has come early for all us locals who enjoy Bullock Island, and for the many thousands of tourists who also enjoy its passive recreational opportunities. December, it is said, comes but once a year and normally I am writing to remind the powers that be to upgrade the access road and parking at Bullock Island for the upcoming tourism influx.
