Bullock Island - a new beginning!

Christmas has come early for all us locals who enjoy Bullock Island, and for the many thousands of tourists who also enjoy its passive recreational opportunities. December, it is said, comes but once a year and normally I am writing to remind the powers that be to upgrade the access road and parking at Bullock Island for the upcoming tourism influx.
Bullock Island Parking Area 12.12.19
This year I had a little patience, having noted a commitment to have it sealed by Christmas, indeed Christmas this year!, made by our Council (now being the Committee of Management), spurred on by our local Cr. Dick Ellis, and supported by L.E.A.D.A.
Looking back to 2018 with pole forest!

Today, I am pleased to note that the entire access road and parking area has been sealed, it looks great and I should acknowledge and thank the East Gippsland Shire and 'Cranes' for coming up with the goods and getting the job done in good time. The road looks good, feels good, and will do us all good without the potholes and ditches that have detracted from the enjoyment of the area for years.
What an improvement 12.12.19
The Pole Forest aka Car Park 2018
I do wonder where all the poles have gone, hopefully they have been or are going to be put to good use in an area that really needs them.
One Way Traffic early 2019
The improvements will be appreciated I am certain by all locals and visitors alike. Finally, after many years of complaints regarding its condition, a simple piece of passive recreation infrastructure in an iconic location, where the simple enjoyment of parking facing the water and watching all the goings on can be enjoyed year in year out and in all weathers.

Thanks to all concerned.
