"Albert & Co- a third awakening"

Last night I was privileged to be able to gain a sneak preview of the new Albert & Co. I have followed with interest the growth of this local establishment over many years and which has maintained not only my caffeine levels but also my insatiable need to find the best that Gippsland has to offer. We here right on my own back yard may just be one of the leaders in the field.
The re-invention of Albert & Co is almost complete and I enjoyed the opportunity for a sneak peak last night. I will hold off doing a full review to let things settle down in the new location but make no mistake this will be very popular venue not only in Lakes Entrance but in Gippsland as a whole.

Simple yet stylish table chairs and added benches

Walls removed gives a light and airy restaurant.

Located on the ground floor of the Bellevue Motel on the Esplanade in Lakes Entrance, Albert & Co has transposed the old bar and restaurant into a light, bright, comfortable and airy cafe/bar and restaurant. Walls have been knocked down, windows replaced with a fully opening folding shutter type section, which will allow the cooling sea breeze to pervade the eating area, making you feel you are eating right amoung the fishing fleet. After all they are moored across the road. The tables a simple but stylish, the chairs, oh yes the chairs, a good height and really comfortable, vital for blokes like me ! The decor is clean and crisp, suave and sophisticated, yet simple and stylish. The use of natural woods with black and white is a blend of well planned decorating and all round ambiance. Around some of the walls are benches with plush cushions covered in rich colours, these add to the image of Albert & Co.

Intimate corner settings with ambiance

Room for plenty, dinner for how many?

Not fully operational as yet, (December 22nd is the day I am told) but still up until then, will be providing not only their well known and loved blend of coffee, but a wide range of home cooked cakes and sweet delicacies to tempt the plate. But wait there is more, from late December not only breakfast, but lunch and if that wasn't enough dinner to top your day off. They will all be available. If  a stylish comfortable drink or two is what you are after why not relax in the soft covered clubman style chairs in the bar area, what a way to enjoy a relaxing drink with friends, or complete a business dinner. I just can't wait.

Overlooking the fishing fleet, a cooling breeze on a summer evening

Now for those who have a venue of their own don't forget that Albert & Co are still maintaining their highly regarded mobile catering, except now they have a function centre of their own at the Bellevue. So if it is a function you are after why not give them a call and view this new and exciting venue.
For me I cannot wait to go down to sample (and report) on my experiences.....stay tuned.
Well done Matt and the staff at Albert & Co, you have hit the spot yet again.
