What's On this weekend - if you are not into AFL?

It is that time of year again when headlines are of that game, those players, their "WAGS", and any other aspect of the competing teams, before the country almost comes to a halt, not for a horse race, (that comes in a little over a month), but for the AFL Grand Final.

But not all are consumed by this annual event, there are some that prefer other pursuits and interests. For those not watching that game, for petrol heads, and for those who will be watching the Grand Final on Sunday (beamed live from Sydney "GO STORM"), here is an alternative for all the family.

Gippsland Motorplex for those who don't already know, is a multifaceted motor sport facility able to provide facilities for not only drag racing on a 1/8th mile track, but burnout pads, dirt track racing,  oval track and dirt track drag racing (B. A. D. Racing = Bitumen and Dirt Racing).

But wait there is more there is a 4WD test track and the entire facility is also used as a driver training facility by SKIDZ Driver Training who are passionate about providing our young drivers with the best chance to stay alive and injury free.

So what's the go, this weekend?
Saturday from 9-30am (gates open at 7-30am for entrants)
DRAG 'N" SKIDZ  a full day of events and with catering on site.
See the poster below or go to the Gippsland Motorplex Facebook page for more information.

Then on 4th November, timed to coincide with the Melbourne Cup long weekend, and for those who would not know one end of a horse from the other, is a new event for the Gippsland Motorplex, Wide tracker Dirt Track racing for all you two wheeled lovers ! A range of events to suit all, this will be a great spectacle and again full facilities are on site.

Now only a month later, December 7th and 8th, a two day event featuring the annual B.A.D. Drags.
This will be huge event over the two days, includes racing of bikes from 50cc to V8's, night racing  Quads, Stunt Riders, etc., and with a motorcycle swap meet will attract interest all day and into the evening. Make a date for this one in your calendar.

After all the Christmas and New Year festivities, it is back to the Gippsland Motorplex on January 4th 5th and 6th 2019 for a Throttle Stomp. Three days of  pre-69 vehicles cars and bikes,  concrete and dirt drags racing, market style stalls and onsite food. This one is sure to clear the head all weekend.

So there you have it a range of motorsport festivities at the Gippsland Motorplex running almost four weekly into January 2019. This is our own local motor-sport facility, it continually draws large crowds from all over Victoria and Interstate even attracting international interest.

Events at Gippsland Motorplex boost our local economy, and many of the Bairnsdale accommodation are already booked out for some events. Locally operated, built and financed by volunteers for our community.

If you are into motor-sport, cars bikes or anything motor give it a go support your local Dragway.
